Following five successful seasons racing in Mini Miglias & modified saloons during the mid eighties, followed by a four year sabbatical, Howard took to the circuits again, taking on the role of instructor, and making this his dedicated profession. Throughout this period, and up to the present day, he has raced in various saloon series, 924 Porsches, and MX5's with some success.
All ARDS instructors are graded, beginning as a 'C' grade, generally progressing to an 'A' grade, with some being acredited with an 'S' or "Superlicence" grade. Howard has held an 'S' Ards instructor licence for several years, which enables him to carry out the ARDS novice driver training course, together with the ARDS test, and ultimately sign off the licence application.
Howard's comprehensive experience has been gained through every conceivable channel involving performance & race car driving techniques, over many hundreds of thousands of track miles worldwide. If your objective is to learn more than the "basic racing line," to more comprehensive techniques involving the physics of vehicle dynamics, then Howard will share his knowledge with you, helping you to become a faster, smoother, and safer track or road driver.
Whether you require basic novice instruction, advanced trackday instruction, or race driver coaching, in front wheel drive, four wheel drive, or rear wheel drive vehicles, Howard will guarantee to improve your technique and lap consistency.
Howard has had some good success with junior race drivers in Saxmax, Ginettas and various other catergories, including a 16 year old who won his first race outright at Cadwell Park, in a 400bhp TVR Tuscan challenge car.
So if you are 15 or 85, you can gain good experience in one session, or a full day of instruction with Howard.
All Howard's interests, cars, motorcycles and women revolve around the same common denominator ..... SPEED!!!!
